Need assistance figuring out rifle twist on CVA Mountain Stalker

Was given a CVA Mountain Stalker .50 today. But no where on the barrel can I find anything indicating the rifle twist of this gun. Went to the CVA web site, and could not find anything. Does anyone know where I can find out? It has a 0.2 right over the serial number.

My Traditions Kentucky has it stamped right next to the cal.

Measure it.

Use a .50 cal cleaning jag on your ramrod. Make sure the bore is squeaky clean and lightly oiled. Put a thick patch, or two thin patches on the jag - you want a tight fit but not so much it's hard to move the rod. Run the patch and jag all the way down to the breech. Make a small 'flag' with a piece of tape wrapped around the rod, the two ends sealed together and sticking out away from the rod right at the muzzle. Turn the rod so that the flag is pointing at the front sight so you can use that as your zero point. Now, slowly pull the rod allowing the rifling to turn it; stop when the flag indicates a half turn, pointing down away from the front sight. Place a second piece of tape on the rod at the muzzle. Remove the rod and measure the distance between the two pieces of tape. Multiply by 2; your twist rate is 1 in two times the distance between the pieces of tape.

Mykeal is right. That's the way I've always done it except I put only one flag tape on the rod at the muzzle with the rod fully inserted ~ withdraw until one full turn and measure the distance from the muzzle to the flag. Done.

Thanks guys for all your help. It is a 1:48. I am just now really getting into black powder, I've always been a bow guy. Love it so far. But I am sure I am going to need in the future. Love this site!
