Hi all. I'm new here but figured that I'd jump right in.

I am replacing the trigger assembly on my 2004 Remington 700 CDL .30-06. I love the gun but hate the trigger. My gunsmith has been able to safely get the pull down to about 4.5 lbs (any lower and it discharges occasionally with safety release, not good!) but I am looking for a more comfortable 3 lb pull for hunting.

I've heard great things about the Jewell trigger but he strongly recommends the Kepplinger. He claims his clients rave over it (ps. I supply the trigger, he doesn't do a markup). He's installed tons of both but tells me the Kepplinger clients seem to rave more about it than those that he's installed Jewels on.

So. Any opinions on these triggers and which one you would recommend?

Just got it back from my gunsmith, took it out and shot it today.

HOLY COW! What a difference. My lord, the match setting is at 6 oz, the actual pull as measured by my smith in the normal mode is 3lbs 6 oz.

Smooth, smooth, smooth.

5 thumbs up for Kleppinger! ;)
