Yes, I've seen airsoft M79 and M203 grenade launchers. There are even claymore mines out there. Airsoft guys are generally big into realism, exact opposite of what paintball (which might as well be called impact laser tag) has become. Despite being a disenchanted paintballer, I have shied away from airsoft because it would soak up a lot of money that would otherwise be spent on real guns!

Are you serious? I have some VIAO patches (um, some would call them hacks) you might be interested in. Your workplace looks awesome. Go dude. ;-)

Man, video game developers have to be the most pro-gun people in media.
Those are some righteous workstations by the way.

No boys rifle but they made a Airsoft Barrett, and you can go crazy with airsoft too I was at the local airsoft "store" here and they had a M-16 type rifle going for $1200.00 yeah I'll get the real thing before I get that.

jerkface, I believe that's a Boys rifle, not a Lahti. Then again, I'm not terribly familiar with either one (never seen one in person, just around the 'net), so anyone out there who is more familiar with these, please correct/inform me.

--edit--
shoot, after about 5 minutes of google image searching, I think it's neither one... *** is that rifle? Something Russian, perhaps? (the brake looks like something I saw a few years ago in a History Channel special about the battle of Stalingrad)

--editII--
FOUND IT!

It was Russian, a PTRS-41! Huzzah!

Might have been the Systema PTW. That's an Airsoft gun with almost all of the functions of the real M-16 (no recoil).

If it wasn't, then yes, it was a rip off.

Is that what I think it is?

Is it my imagination or is the second gun from the right an AT4? I haven't seen one since the Corps.

Well whatever the antitank gun IS it ISN'T airsoft!

I dunno, there's people who have made Airsoft AT-4s, RPG-7s, pretty much anything.

Some of them are built around the real thing, so it's a bit of a bugger to get over here.

My money says that most of them are probably real. I'm finding it really hard to believe that someone actually made an airsoft PTRS, or M2HB.

I spot (left to right):

M249 SAW
M16A2 w/ M203
SPAS-12
M79
PTRS
AK-47 underfolder
MP5SD
M16A2(?) w/ M203
Unknown semi-auto (Thompson?)
PSG-1
Airsoft Minigun
Unknown semi-auto handgun
PS90
MG42
AT4
M2HB
Fragmentation grenade

My guess is that they're a mix of real and airsoft weaponry. The minigun is definitely airsoft from the orange muzzles. They could also be replica/non-firing display weapons.

Must be quite realistic dressing up and running around shooting each other with 6mm plastic BBs, as opposed to getting gnarly bruises for being a moron sticking your head out and getting hit by a .68 ball of paint.

I don't know; I have a airsoft M16a2 and on the otherhand have gone paintballing a few times here and there. I find Airsoft in general to be retarded in practical use (maybe great for training purposes), but overall it feels pretty weak compared to paintballing.

I swear, if this thread turns into a paintball vs. airsoft pissing match, I am pulling the forum over and we are going right back home. Do you young men understand me? This is not going to be a repeat of the time we tried to go to Six Flags.

I've worked with most of those guns for real. The sizes don't look right.

The MG is not proportional.

I'm guessing that they may be either models that are scanned for pc/console games. Or they could also be a mix of movie props, dummy weapons, and airsoft.

Just my 2 cents

and a total guess.

A friend of a friend is a modeler for a game design company and he has gotten to play with things I could only dream about for "research".

They get to shoot all that stuff full auto too, for realistic recoil reactions by a player's character. It's just not fair.

I bet it's a video game designer's office. I saw the making of one of those games (I think it was Call of Duty) and they were playing with the real deals recording sound bytes and having a great time. I need that job! I'm sure some (if not most) of those aren't the real deal but I wouldn't complain if that was my office.
