Kimber Custom SP II ??

Well, stopped by the local gun store and he has a Kimber Custom SP II

Can't find any info on the Kimber site for them. He is a Kimber Master dealer, said the gun was hand manufactured and "fitted" it is about the size of an Ultra carry II but the main body is not just aluminum it is anodized a medium/dark blueAbout this color to be exact. but not solid more of a swirl type pattern between the blue and straight aluminum.

I have to admit, after getting over the initial "IT'S BLUE" it's done well enough to not be embarrassed by using it at the range (haha)

Any way, my question, anybody know about these Custom SP II's

Oh if it helps, he is asking $1195 for the gun.

Kimber is infamous for throwing out a non published "Special Edition" on a fairly regular basis. Call and talk to Kimber..they can fill you in on everything about the gun....its sounds like a pretty nice gun.

OK, called Kimber and talked to a live person (Dennis) in the custom shop.
It took 2 rings and he was on the phone. Score 1 for Kimber
He told me that the SP is the “Splash†line, and it is a limited run of colored frame Ultra II pistols.

I believe they also come with the ultra thin grips. My favorite store has some of those "limited edition" Kimbers. They feel great and are super light/thin. I wouldn't mind having one in my collection. The price is the only thing standing in the way. Maybe in a year or two I'll find a nice used one that somebody will be willing to sell at a susbtantial discount!
