I am thinking of getting the Kimber Pro Carry Ten II(Polymer Frame)for my first 1911 pistol. What do you guys think of this Kimber model?Would you highly recommend it?
THANKS.

I have one, and like it. It's accurate and has given me no issues with fit, finish, or durability. The grip size feels subjectively smaller than a stock CZ97 (my other double-stack 45ACP), but certainly is a bit larger than a standard 1911.

I've got 4 Kimbers.
The last being the Tactical Ultra (the best one yet I think)

I'm looking for another Kimber to buy but I just can't like Kimber's Polymer Frame.
Starting with (like a Glock) I think it's butt ugly.

Maybe if I got some shooting time with it I might warm up to it or maybe like the Glock, the more I shoot it the less I like it.

Talking to a few dealers, it dosen't seem to be selling well.

But I hate it when people bad mouth a gun and they haven't any experience with it, so I just don't know about this one.:)

It may be butt ugly (compared to a traditional 1911), but it sure is a shooter. :) I bought this to be my truck/pack gun, based on its (relatively) low cost, high-capacity, and the likelihood that the polymer frame wouldn't wear as badly in that kind of environment as would an all-steel pistol. I still feel it to be a super choice for that kind of environment.

Once point I should have made last time around is how much of a pussycat this thing is to shoot. Recoil feels subjectively much softer than with a 'standard' Commander-size - extended range sessions were much easier with the PCII-10 than with the standard PC-II (using 230 UMC hardball range ammo).

rbernie, maybe I can talk one of my friends into buying one so I can try it out.
I may like it.

I sure like my other Kimbers and I've got the bug to buy another one.:)

I gave a friend a steel 45 EAA Witness Compact.
A nice gun.

He shot my Custom Compact Kimber a couple days ago.

He said, "I always thought you were such a good shot. It's not that you shoot better than me, it's because you are shooting better guns.":D
