LGS just put a used Kimber Raptor II in the case. Looks nice, and I could probably get it for about 700. I have never owned or shot a Kimber. Some love 'em and some hate 'em AFAIK. The extractor looks wierd to me, and what little I know it has a Swartz(?) interlock.

Anybody out there have any experience with these? I'm loking for a range gun and had pretty much settled on a Springer Range Officer before this one appeared.

I had the Pro and Ultra. Both had issues. I never took them to a gunsmith, though. I traded them.

I have an ultra cdp II (EDC), and 2 SIS's, a 5" custom (IDPA gun) and a pro (sometimes carry gun).
Never had any problem with any of them and I might want that Raptor if you tell me where it is.:D

It took me a while to find a Stainless Pro Raptor II but I was very impressed with the pistol from day one. The overall quality of the fit, finish and trigger really surprised me and it worked right out of the box. I bought it so that I could "tinker" with it and changed out all the MIM parts for Ed Brown parts, removed the Swartz FPS, installed a Colt titanium firing pin, bobbed the frame and changed the grips. I'm currently using either Ed Brown grips (shown below) that came on my Special Forces Carry or VZ grips. Overall it's a very decent Commander-sized pistol with some functional and attractive slide and front strap checkering. The checkering does help to provide a good purchase on the pistol so it's not just for show. I paid over $1,000 for mine so $700 makes it an ever better deal if the pistol is in good shape.
