Kimber rimfire target pistol

I really like my Marval 22 conversion. Only problem is it's sitting atop my bullseye 1911. I am thinking of buying a Kimber target rimfire for the Marvel and selling the upper. My question is will the Kimber upper work on any other 1911? Somewhere I read that they were made by Ceiner and are identical to the Ciener 22 conversions. the other option is buying a 1911 lower, but that seems to be costlier than the Kimber.

Kimber rimfire pistols don't have an ejector and the slide isn't cut for one, so it only works on the rimfire frame or a frame with the ejector removed. Why not get a Taurus, Rock Island or Springfield GI for about $500 as a host for the Marvel slide?
