Ever since the March 2008 issue of American Rifleman came out I've had it bad for this gun. I have a Kimber Tactical Pro that I love, it shoots as good as it looks. Anyways, earlier today while completing a transfer for a Taurus PT99 AF (good shooting gun, great price) I spotted one in the display case. This one was unfired, brand spanking new.............. I put it on layaway and will pick it up as soon as funds allow. Anyways, other then holding it for a few minutes, I've no experience other then the article in American Rifleman which I've read many times. Does anybody out there have any experience with them? I'd love to hear from you.

thanks!

Tim

I picked up a used sis commander with a wilson barrel and wilson reliability job for $600 and the gun functions great and is a real tack driver. Don't know why the dealer sent it out to wilson for the work, but it turned out it was his carry gun for a year and then he bought something new every year. Basically his loss was my gain

My buddy just purchased a SIS. It's an excellent gun. Reliable and accurate. I only have one objection.....the coating on the gun is very slippery making it difficult to rack the slide. You need a death grip on that thing to get it back.

I noticed that when I first held it. The guy behind the counter said one guy lost a fingernail on it. I like the look and feel of it so I'll deal with that aspect as longbas it shoots and is reliable.

Be On Notice

The Kimber SIS 1911's were originally designed for use by the LAPD street
crimes [gang units], as to their specifications. With declining sales of this
product, Kimber now has discontinued making this model. Yes, there still
are a few NIB, ANIB, and LNIB ones floating a'round; but if you want one,
now its the time my friend~! :uhoh: ;)
