Does anyone have experience with the Kimber Ultra 9mm? How are they for concealed carry?
I'm also looking at the Kimber Micro 9.

I have a Micro 9 Rapide and am looking real hard at the Ultra. The Ultra is the same size as my Shield Plus which conceals easily. The Micro 9 has been my EDC in warmer weather because of its compactness.

Micro 9 here, too. Mine has been a fun “mini 1911” that has been 100 pct reliable with all the FMJ and JHP ammo I have fired through it so far.

I stoke it with Federal Micro HST 150 JHP as a carry and home defense option.

Stay safe.

Have a stainless Ultra Carry 9mm and Colt Defender 9mm. They're both very good, bought both of them used. I think the Kimber is a wee bit more accurate, the trigger break is crisp whereas the Colt is a tad spongy. It uses the 80 series firing system. I'd trust them if I were to carry them, but find a 43X is almost the same package and much lighter. I just have a thing for 9mm 19 and 2011s. :)

Had an ultra in .45. Like the size and weight, easy for me to conceal with the flat 1911 profile and short grip.

I didn't like mine in .45, recoil made followups quite slow in comparison so my expectations but I bet in 9mm it would be excellent, my lightweight CCO sure was (same frame, longer barrel).

I've had a few Kimbers over the years and all were solid and reliable, despite internet hype, so I'd feel OK there though personally I'd be more inclined to spend a bit more for a Colt Defender or DW ECO. Ruger and S&W make nice officer frame options too.

I personally did not like the micro 9 at all. To small for me to get a good grip on with my hands, recoil was awful jumpy for a 9mm and I found it too big for my pockets and not much of an advantage over the larger officers for belt carry (my common complaints with all the micro 9s out there).
