Has anyone shot or handled a kimber warrior? What are the major differences from the other kimbers and is this gun over priced?

Maybe a better kimber 1911 that will have all the bugs worked out that so many people have posted about?

Don't own one but have seen a couple. Very nice. Price is right in line with other "rail" 1911s. Best thing, IMO, about the Warrior is that it uses an internal extractor and has no firing pin safety, but is made like the so called "series 1" Kimbers back when they used to work right out of the box. Should be a nice package, although I have read several stories of how the Kimpro finish seems to wear extremely quick.

Funny, I just can't get past the nutter butter (aka, Mr. Peanut) grips on the Warrior. Easy change, however. I have read they work; I just don't care for the look.

My friend at work bought one and we took it to the range last week. My first impressions, I hated the Mr peanut grips. The one's on his gun seemed slick and didn't offer any grip for me. The gun also had numerous failure to return to battery. The gun was well lubed and greased. I for one don't buy into the 500 rd break in period. Each and every Colt I own has shot flawlessly from the box. the one positive is when the gun worked it was accuarate... :D

I think the Warrior is over priced by at least $200. You can save up another $300-400 and get a Les Baer which most likely last a whole lot longer and shoot a whole lot better.

Of course the Warrior has the Mall Ninja light rail which is so in vouge and it is a copy of a 1911 used by special forces. If the cool factor is worth $400 more than you can find a clean series I Kimber for than the Warrior is for you. I too just can't understand the peanut head grips, but they do look tactical :)

I've shot a Warrior & a Desert Warrior. Both ran well, fit and finish were good. I didn't care for the grips... the bottom rear corner was too sharp, and dug into my palm. I'd get one, if I needed or wanted a 1911 w/ a light rail. I think they took the "cool" factor into account when they priced them, though.

I handled one and seems very nice also bought it I get to pick it up on Saturday. The Series I helped the sale :D

I checked one out about a month ago, because I wanted to see Kimber's "Series I" revenant. I thought it seemed very well built, which was no surprise. Only two things bugged me, and both of them were aesthetic (not to diminish the importance, to me, of aesthetics). 1) I've never liked the swoopy shape of the Kimber rear spoiler. 2) The Nutter Butter grips were horribly cheap looking, such that I now think the OEM grips that came on my SA Mil Spec were relatively cool.
