Kimson handicraft buffalo horn grips

Has anyone had any experience with the grips this company makes? Seems like a decent outfit.

My main question is how long did it take for you to receive your grips after the order?

I ordered slim brown marble grips for my crusader and think it's probably going to work ok, the guy does good work, I have buffalo horn on a few knives I have including a kukri I've whacked with for a long time now with no chips or cracks or anything so I know it is durable.

Costs less than the alumagrips I was looking at, and the alumagrips I have for my colt are very nice and all, but aren't that comfortable so I wanted to experiment a bit.

something along the lines of that is what I should end up with.

I got the idea from someone at m1911.org who apparently had custom grips made.

I've got some on one of my 1911's. I payed with PayPal and had the box in two weeks.

No problems, perfect fit. I'd post a pic but my photo host site is down this morning.

The grips were sent delivery confirmation with signature required. So, I wasn't home...had to go to PO to pick up.

Anybody know if they do grips for bobtail 1911s?

I've got a Dan Wesson Commander Classic Bobtail (for the record: LOVE it; my favorite gun that I own), and I've liked the Kimson dust of life grips since Xavier brought 'em to general attention. I see Kimson offers an option for Commander Classic, but has anybody ordered one for a bobtailed 1911? How'd it work out?

(Given the gun prohibitions Kimson has to work under in Vietnam, I know it'll be a PITA for Kimson to get the pattern right if they haven't done one already. Figured I'd ask here before I bother them about it.)

The guy who makes this stuff could build a car out of buffalo horn.. Small pieces and all. I'm sure buzzing a little section of the grip he made wouldn't be too hard a task.

I used 2co to pay. I ordered the 7th of May, and they billed me on the 9th but my order still says pending so I'm not sure if there's a problem or not.

One thing to keep in mind is that buffalo horn can shrink over time & occasionally warps, depending on your environment.
It's not as stable as wood.
