"Vest Pocket" implies a flat, thin autoloader. I'd tend to go for one of the wee Berettas here.

For a pocket gun (not quite the same thing), I'd say something like a 342PD or 642.

Taurus Pt-22. Yeah, it's my mouse gun and, I say it proudly. I see a mouse, pull that little puppy out and send that mouse to boot hill...I had to stop using my 442 for mice, too big of holes in the hardwood floors!!

S&W 296

Black Majik:

(Although BigG is being funny: An L-frame Centennial in .44 Spl is stretching the definition of "mousegun" waaayyyy past the breaking point. )

Well OK. I thought of it as ironic. But if a gun is light enough it could be considered a "pocket gun," if you're wearing clown trousers.

Yeah go around looking like that and no one will mess with you.

Except maybe them guys in the white coats coming at you with a straight jacket.:neener:

But if a gun is light enough it could be considered a "pocket gun," if you're wearing clown trousers.

I have a pair of pleated pants with pockets that will swallow my 4 5/8" .44 Magnum Bisley Vaquero with ease and without printing (at least while standing.)

This does not make a .44 Magnum Bisley Vaquero a "mousegun" or even a "pocket gun." ;)

I vote for my recently purchased S&W 340PD.:D It is 12 ounces of pure .357 magnum power! It is so lightweight and comfortable to carry, that it has become my primary carry gun.

Now this is what I like to hear. I'm seriously captured by the possibilities of this firearm. In the first place the acquisition of such a weapon would give me a .357 revolver, which is a must have for any personal arsenal. But even more importantly it would give me an extremely lightweight carry weapon. My current weapon weighs well over 2 lbs. unloaded. My primary concern, besides price, with the S&W, is the painful recoil. So this dosen't bother you much, I take it?

Freewheeling:

The 340PD kicks like a mule when using Federal Hydra Shok 158gr. JHPs, but I find that it doesn't bother me as much as I originally thought it would. (A friend of mine says that he can't stand the violent kick, but I guess everyone is different.) Of course, I won't be using this gun as a range gun. I will probably shoot 5-10 rounds through it once a month just to remind myself what it feels like.:D It is such an awesome lightweight carry gun that I almost forgot that I had it in my pocket all day today!

I recently had a pistolsmith smooth the trigger action and I had him install a XS Sight Systems 24/7 Big Dot Tritium Express front sight. The sight provides an immediate target acquisition compared to the original orange blade sight. Definitely a must-have at $60.00 plus installation ($45.00)! XS Sight Systems
Brownell's 24/7 Big Dot Tritium Express Sight

I also ordered some Eagle Rosewood Grips for it today to finish off the project!:D Eagle Secret Service Rosewood Grips

"Beretta Jetfire.

I shoot it better than any of the others, thanks to its single action trigger and decent grip."

Ditto. The Jetfire is dependable and accurate. Most mouse guns don't have either of those qualitys...

A hit with a .25 is better than a miss with a .32

Easy. Walther TPH. In a larger caliber it was the Walther PPK for a long time. Now the BERSA 380. Nice DA & SA on both TPH & BERSA 380s.

Regarding the 340PD:

People whine about .357 Magnum recoil and blast out of 4" steel guns that weigh about 40oz unloaded.

The 340 PD weighs about 12.

You do the math.

Mouse gun

Well, for me, it's one you seldom hear about. 1907 .32 savage.

Awsome pistol. :D :D

No whining about the kick of the 340PD from me.:neener: Personally, I feel that it shows the shooter just how powerful the .357 magnum is! I'd have to say that it is the best year round, no fuss , potent carry gun available. Just my 2 cents.

The Rohrbaugh is the hands down king of mouse guns. I shot Jeff OTMG's Rohrbaugh; it's the shizzy.
