This site is the start of a silent auction benefiting Raymond Richards, who lost his shop and source of income to a fire. The auction will be completed at blade west.
Not only is this for a good cause, knife collectors should take note of who donated knives. There are several peices in there from makers with a long back log, some aren't even taking orders that I know of. This is your chance to pick up a piece of their work without the wait.
Aspriring knife makers can also bid for things like one on one training with a couple very accomplished bladesmiths, a new KMG belt grinder, or a large quantity of the steel of your choice.

I know that links to auctions are frowned upon but this is for a good cause, and not something I benefit from in any way. Its also a chance for some folks to get some very nice knives and help a guy out at the same time.

Thanks for looking, if mods end up needing to close this, I'll understand. :)

im glad to see this happening. ive never met ray but ive been reading his posts on the forums for a long time and he seems like such a nice guy (and a talented maker) i hate to see bad things happen to good people.

as for his talent... look what he can do with a piece of rebar, some files, and a couple hammers

thats some of his first work since the fire. who knew rebar could look so good??

Very impressive work.

A lot of good people have gotten together to help another smith even though they compete for the same clients. You won't see that happening too many other places. Gotta love the knife community. :)
