Knife package showed up.

Well this showed up today, the M3 on the right is fixable the one in the middle and the left hand are blanks as they came off the die set and will require a lot of grinding and maybe heat treating to finish, both are Camillus knives.
I plan of doing a blade clean up on the M3 and then replace the leather washer handle, I have another sheath for it.
Along with these I also picked up a BSA Plumb hatchet and some BSA eating sets knife,fork and spoon in the holders.
Also another Cattaragus 225Q blade has rust and pitted but the leather handle is in really good shape considering the age. Just a clean upon this.

The sheath looks like something sold with surplus Kutmaster M3's after WWII.

RC, can't take close ups I removed what was left of the handle and the rest is soaking in rust remover, only stamps I can recall are on the tang or guard I'll post that tomorrow. No telling about the sheaths, I do have a repop of the original I plan on using.

RC, only markings I can find are on the tang US M3 then under that Camillus.
I think this may be a early version as it has two pins holding the pommel on.

It's going to be hard to bring this blade back, it's really pitted, been using Mothers metal polish and machine type rubbing compound which worked pretty good on the Cattaragus 225Q knives I restored. Just have to see.

Rubbing with an unbacked polish will do nothing to remove deep pits.

You have to hand-rub them level down to clean metal using progressively finer grades of black emery paper & oil.

And it has to be backed up with a hard rubbing block of some kind.

Polishing with a soft cloth or buffing wheel just follows the pits in & out, and they never go way no matter how long you rub on them.

When I did the other knives I wanted to keep them as close to original as possible, reason I didn't use any sand paper, but I think I'm going to need to rethink that idea.
