I am looking to make a few changes to my Remington 870P MAX shotgun.
It's a great shotgun, no complaints from me. My intention is to make the shotgun more portable.
With it's full stock and overall length, my shotgun is more appropriately used as a primary weapon. I'm going to be buying a Rock River Arms M4gery when I get back from Iraq this year and I intend for it to be my "go-to" primary arm.
I'd like to reduce the overall length of my 870 by replacing the full Speedfeed stock with something shorter, preferably a folding stock, to make a nice and tight package to strap to side of my pack or store/use the shotgun in/from my vehicle.
I've looked at all the major manufacturers' offerings (such as Butler Creek, Choate, ATI, Knoxx, etc) and the Knoxx stocks look to be the most promising.
I like the SpecOps Folder the most, as it is the option that most radically reduces the overall length of shotguns and can be used in a shouldered or pistol grip-only fashion. My only concern is possibly limited sling options.
The SpecOps stock is promising also, has no sling issues, but may not be quite what I am looking for.
I used the search function, but nothing useful came up. Does anyone have any firsthand experience with either Knoxx stock? Are there any other stock options that may prove applicable?
Thanks in advance for the help!
