How are the KNS crosshair front sight posts for the AR-15?? Any good? Waste of money? Am I better off just getting a NM front sight post? I find the standard sight post obscures too much the target, especially at 100+ yards. What do you think?

I'd kind of like to know, too. I've always looked at those with interest, but figured they were a gimmick...

Having used crosshair front apeture sights I will say that if you are shooting at a specified distance, at targets that match the diameter of the crosshair sight, the KNS may have some merit.

If you feel the standard A2 front sight obscures too much of the target past 100 meters, you are not going to like a crosshair sight any better.

Try a narrower .050" round post or square post Match type front sight post for better sight picture at longer ranges. HTH

I tried out a KNS crosshair front sight for pretty much the same reasons. It was ok but in the end I went back to a traditional post. Personally I get more mileage by using a six o'clock hold at short to mid ranges and picking a point over the target for longer ranges. The body of the crosshair sight itself starts blocking your view of the target area at longer distances and I just never found it to perform the magic I hoped for.

I tried one once on an FAL. Didn't like it and went back to the post within 2 weeks.
