krag

I recently acquired a Springfield 30/40 krag. I know this gun was used in The Spanish-American War and when I was a kid I knew an old gentleman that was in this war, so it has a special appeal to me for that reason. Does anyone know more about these guns or where I could find more info?

The Krag Collectors Association is a good place to start. Also, say what you will about Wikipedia, but last time I checked, it had a pretty decent write up about the Krag. There are also several good books on the Krag. I have the one by Mallory (no longer in print, but it can be found on abebooks) and the one by Poyer (still in print and reasonably priced). As Sunray pointed out, the Krag forum on Jouster is probably the most active that I've found.
