I'm wondering about Kramer concealed carry shirts. I see the ads for them in every First Freedom mag I get and am wondering if they're any good. They look like they would sag on the gun side from the wieght and maybe even rub you raw under your arm.

Anybody have experience with one?

Another question I have is whether you'd be able to get your gun out quickly.

What do you think?

Got one in 1995. IMHO system only works with very lightweight guns. As you mention, heavier guns will cause the shirt to sag -- and you cannot offset the weight on the other side with a magazine (well, at least my G19 mag would not fit).

The only gun that worked semi-well with the Confidant was the S&W Airweight type gun -- small enough and light enough. I eventually went to a Kramer pocket holster for year-around carry, as that did not require ripping open my shirt to access my gun. :)

I have one and have had good success with it. I dont use it a lot, but when I need it, it works well. It does work best with smaller pistols, but I've carried my Combat Commander and a double reload under a dress shirt(not a fitted one). I just put my double mag carrier from off my belt in the other holster, the strap holds it in place. The balance isnt bad this way. If you do as Kreamer suggests and order the shirt one size smaller than you normally wear, the gun is held pretty close to you and doesnt move around. I think its a lot more comfortable than a belly band type holster and defineitly has its place. What I find works best is to wear it over a tee shirt with two SIG P230's. This has been the most comfortable and balanced for me. It takes a little getting used to, but once you get over the panic of not having a cover garment, it's becomes easier. After the initial strange feel, you forget its on, especially with the lighter guns.

General Agreement - - -

I made the mistake of ordering a proper size shirt, and things DO tend to sag left when carrying a Commander-or-heavier piece withonly one mag to counterbalance. I'll have to try the two-mag deal to see if it balances better.

I note that Kramer is offering their shirt with long tails now, and I feel this would work better.

Agree that the BEST solution is a light piece--Colt Agent, J-frame airweight, or Kahr P9.
My main problem with the Confidant is that I tend to get into a rut, and forget to put it on before I button up my shirt--Usually just do the side pocket carry with P32 or small revolver after that. :D

Best,
Johnny

Before you order the Kramer, check out another company that makes a simliar item but from what I can see, it looks superior to that of Kramer. I have one on order but there is a back log of about 4-6 weeks.

I've used the Confidant for years and have been very happy. Best application is with something small, relatively flat, and light, like a lightweight snubby or an auto on the order of a PPK. I find even a subcompact Glock like the 26/27 to be too bulky.

The first one I used for years was the original, short-length. I since picked up a full-length and find it to me more comfortable.
