Just returned from a trip to Germany. I went over to Salzburg Austria and found a gun shop. They had a really nice engraved Kreghoff Drilling 16 ga over 7mm X 65mm for 3,500 euros. A good deal?

That is more like US $5000 at the current exchange rate.
The 16 ga barrels likely have 65mm- 2 9/16" chambers and you aren't going to find 7x65R in just every sporting good store.
It is still not a high price for late model Krieghoffs I have seen advertised, but you must consider its utility and the shooter's willingness to scrounge Euro-spec ammo.

And, don't forget the import duty when you bring it into the USA. If I recall correctly, it is about 15%.....can somebody give the correct percentage?

So much more info needs to be known before this can be answered properly!!

Each drilling has to be taken case by case to see what it REALLY is, and what it REALLY is worth...

The above drilling may be a modern Krieghoff, with 2-3/4" chambers ect... 7x65R is an excellent cartridge, between a 7-08 and a 280 Rem...

Lask i checked, you can get S&B, Norma and RWS brass/loads in 7x65R...

Anyway, as i said, we would need a LOT more info to give you a proper answer...
