I'm in Germany visiting family for Christmas and my father-in-law took me to the Krieghoff factory here in Ulm. I was very impressed, they use the latest technology to start and finish with expert good old fashioned gunsmithing. If you have spent any time around a trap and skeet club you have probably run into a Krieghoff 80 over and under, they are amazing and I can tell you the inside of the action is just as pretty and finished as the outside. Not many of us in the states have encountered a Krieghoff rifle or drilling, there isn't much of a market here. But their new rifle is quite unique and I think may have a future with some of the high end buyers. It is a slide action like no other, the barrel and magazine slide with the forend and the bolt stays with the stock. Essensially it opens the whole gun. It uses an AR style bolt with a Sako plunger style mini extractor that just slides off the bolt carrier for easy cleaning. It is one of the easiest rifles to disassemble, you can take it completely apart in less than 3 seconds. They are availible in .223-.375Ruger in common calibers. $4000 starting price but the sky is the limit as with all Krieghoff firearms. I will add some pictures when I get home but wanted to share with yous guys while I was here incase you had some hard questions I might ask the factory.
