Many of you have heard of the revolutionary KRISS weapon system detailed on "Future Weapons" on the Military Channel. You may recall they mentioned the gun employs Glock .45 magazines. While I didn't drop $1600 on that fine weapon, I did the next best thing. I bought the magazine from KRISS. I now have a functional 30 rd magazine for my bedside Glock 21.

It used to be a tossup - G17 with 33 rds of 9mm or G21 with 14 rds of .45. It's not a tossup anymore.

I wish I could remember what I paid but $50 isn't far off either way. That's a fairly expensive magazine, but considering it's the only functional one that exists, it was worth it to me. I've had Scherer mags and they don't work.

A buddy of mine joked about it being heavy, but I didn't think it was bad at all. And for those who prefer handguns for home defense, I just don't know how you can beat this.

I carry a G19. I shoot 9mm better than I shoot 45. I put a 33rnd mag in my G19 when I come home at night. I love the ability to do that. Now that a good 30 round mag for .45 has been identified, I may think about getting one...

Did you just call them and ask for one, or do they sell them on their website?

Have you shot it yet? If so, is it reliable?
And of course, can you provide a link to the product?

Lantern, how reliable's the 33 round magazine? That seems like even if it's not too reliable, would make a good plinking magazine.

The glock factory 33 round mags are perfectly reliable in my SUB-2000, I don't think a glock pistol would have a problem with them. The scherer 33 round mags are junk.

I wish I could get the FA SMG version.

They do sell the extension kit alone for $35, pretty pricey but fun on the range. It must weigh the gun down quite a bit, two of my XD45 13 round mags are pretty heavy.

The Glock factory 33rd 9mm mags are excellent. I have 2 & have just ordered 2 more because of the recent presidential election.

The first copy I had of the KRISS had problems. I had to put it together and my follower always hung up at rd 15 (the point at which the extension connected to my magazine). This happened even if I was hand-working it. My follower is an older design. I have procured two other KRISS magazines and they work as I hand-work them. I will shoot them this week and report. But I'm sure they work. The guy I bought them from is a friend and he called the KRISS magazine 'perfection.'

I bought mine at the Indianapolis gun show. Friend was selling the KRISS for around $1600.
