Without luck, I’ve researched a fair bit on-line for some instructions on disassembling the bolt for the Kriss Vector SDP. I think I even found one reference stating it’s not recommend.

I would like to remove the firing pin and extractor for a thorough cleaning. I’ve recently had a few light primer strikes and wanted to clean these parts, before any other steps.

My intent would be to give it an ultrasonic cleaning, and I wouldn’t want to do that without this level of disassembly.

I have tried to push out the retaining pins with a punch and hand force, but came here for advice before using a mallet.

Thanks in advance for advice.

Well Kriss sells a rebuild kit (https://store.kriss-usa.com/kriss-vector-bolt-rebuild-kit/) It looks like the kit comes with replacement pins, if that helps. I'm away from mine so I can't take a look.

I haven't deep dived into mine, just simply taken the toggle bolt system out for inspection and cleaning and removed the bolt assembly.

Maybe an email to Kriss asking them if they have instructions on removal of assembly pins, asking if they are one way or any information that needs to be understood before diving in.

I'll be following this, because I'll get there eventually with mine, just not yet.

How many rounds do you have through yours?

I have less than 150 rounds through mine, as I bought it heading into this last ammo drought and my focus has not been on 10mm. Need to get my progressive up and running on 10mm and gets some more ammo produced.

They definitely are a fun gun to shoot and have pretty good ergos.

Thanks, all. Yes, I was intending on emailing Kriss, but came here first. I will also keep you posted on their reply, assuming the question isn’t answered here first.

I have about around 5000 rounds through it. This is actually a topic I have researched quite some time ago, as normally I would do this cleaning many fewer rounds. I believe that’s when I saw the reference that disassembly was not recommended so I never pursued it, but now I’ve had these light primer strikes recently.

Thank you. Yes, I watch this recently and at the 0:53 mark, it shows the two pins I want to remove. I tried to push them out in the same direction they show, but I stopped short of using a mallet. And with this being a computer animation, it’s impossible to know the intended procedure for removal.

But as well, this was the only video I was able to find that came close answering my question.

The bolt repair kit I linked to earlier shows two pins, I assume those are the pins that you are speaking about? Interesting that they provide replacements with the kit, maybe they get ruined getting them out (i.e. mushroomed head, etc).

Yes, that’s them. The instructions manual shows an exploded view, but nothing related in the bolt maintenance section.

I email Kriss and they replied immediately. Attached are instructions they messaged to me.

Besides a bit of finagling, I had no major issues disassembling or reassembling after cleaning, but but both pins needed fairly firm mallets taps, and I would have made things a lot easier on myself if I used a vice.

Glad you got a response and thank you for posting it here, I saved it in my Kriss folder for future reference.

Was any of that 5000 rounds suppressed?
