There is a TON of info out there, The more I read the more I want a HI, I'm gona have to start saving right away. simply amazing. You might be suprized haw many bookmarked pages I have now. Now that I know just how well respected and revierd they are, I want the real thing. THANKS again for all the help, though I can't find anything about a ''machaira'' on google, save for one giant hawkbill for sale, can you help on this one, and does anyone own a blackjack khuk? I'm sceptcal but it might be a 'round the house utility. I'm off to look at more HI's. THANKS

I'm not sure exactly how many HIs I've bought, but I still have, um, 4 HI kukuris and one small HI knife (R7) and a large HI bowie (Crow). If I remember correctly. ;)

Head on over to Bladeforums and check out the HI subforums (HI main forum and HI Cantina). Yangdu, who runs HI, offers Deals of the Day there. Great way to pick up a good deal on a khukuri.

In response to the double ground question, the answer is "not really sure." :p What I mean is that I believe these blades are hand forged, and I'm not certain how much grinding, if any, goes on. However, the blade in question does have two distinctive bevels as the thick spine tapers to edge.

As for construction, check out this site: http://www.himalayan-imports.com/kami.html

COOL, looks like fun!;)

I probly should have said doubble ''beveled'' as I am not aware of any grinding going into the process either, thanks!
