Detroit. um... Dogg.
so, I just picked up an ancient Gurkha Kukri from an antique shop near my house. (I'll have to go back there again, with money. lots of great C&Rs and such, and pretty fair prices) it has the original sheath and skinning knives, and it's in fairly good shape. some patina, but it still holds a good edge.

the thing is, the sheath has been cut over the years by the kukri, and if you're holding the sheath in the wrong place when you draw the blade, you can cut yourself. so, though I'll be keeping the original sheath for the sake of history, I need another sheath if I'm actually going to use the knife, which I plan to for camping, etc..

I can't seem to find any sheaths by themselves. anyone have a source? it doesn't need to be leather, I'm just looking for a practical way to hang it off my belt. Kydex would be fine, for that matter.

I'd love to see some pictures of it if you've got 'em. My grandfather was a Lt. Col. in the British Army's 3rd Gurkha Rifles in WWII.
Does your knife have any regimental markings or anything?

I'll pick up some AA for my camera on the way home from work today. the blade is completely unmarked, and appears, upon close inspection, to be handmade. I'll post some pictures tonight.
