Guys... thanks for all of the advise in previous thread:

http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=583480

I have completed the thing finally. Here are the pics. I am a little disappointed in the pics, they don't do the gun justice. The stock's finish is red stain under BLO. The pics just don't show how red it really is. Also, the browned barrel looks really good... I tried to get a angle that would show the purple, but just could not get the angle for the pic. But out in the sun it looks purple... so far everyone who has seen it live has claimed to really like it.

Cowboy2, thanks for the advise about BLO... I have used it on everything now. I love the look. I also used it on custom grips that were made for my son's rough rider.

I also have to thank my great friend Fabian Little; He is a master wood worker, and he took the time out to do the cross inlay and staining.

Anyway, thanks to all of you guys. Let me know what you think!

Here are some close up of the barrel... wished the pics would do the barrel better justice. But I can tell you I am very satisfied!

Oh, by the way... when browning a barrel, do follow the instructions and have ample ventilation; don't take much of that stuff to get down on bad air!

Nice Gun !!!

Clean lines, very nice metal to wood fitting. Nice colorations, VERY NICE !!!

Looks like it could be a very good performer too !!!

Congratulations on the build !!!

P.S... if you are unhappy with how the colors came out in the digital photos, run it through photoshop, adjust the hue saturation a bit until it looks like the real thing...

Sincerely,

ElvinWarrior... aka... David, "EW"

Thanks Guys for the compliments! If the weather holds out, she will be going to the range Saturday. I will be able to tell you if it is a shooter or not.

Again Thanks!
