I have been looking for a 16 ga. Lee Hand Loader for some time now. I have a 12 ga. from the late 60's or 70's that my Dad had. I also have a .45 Long Colt Lee Hand Loader. I use ithe 12 ga. to reload BP in my shells for blanks (western reenactor) and for reqular smokeless shells.

I've aquired an old 16 ga that shoots great, but I'd like to use it with BP blanks as well as smokeless loads also, 16 Ga store bought shells are getting hard to find anymore But I can't find a loader.

My buddie bought a new 20 ga Lee Hand Loader but it is mostly cheap feeling plastic instead of the all metal ones I have. Big difference from 30 plus years ago.

Any leads anyone?

good luck! i have been looking on and off for one for years. and usually, when i find older ones (not in 16) they are asking an arm and a leg for them. apparently, these are now a "collectors item". so many of them are sitting on a shelf collecting dust somewhere, instead of being in the hands of people who would use them.:(

Lee has a 16ga "LoadAll" single stage shotshell loader/press. It is Listed at $47.99 in latest MidwayUSA catalog.
This is a superior product for reloading shotshells. I started loading with a Lee Loader in 20ga when I was 14. I wouldn't want to have to go back, but I still do have the loader.... compelete with box it came in in 1968...... I probably loaded over 5,000rds with that thing when I was in high-school.....

I also have both a 12ga and 20ga LoadAll. They are far superior.....
Do get one in 16ga.

Gosh, brings back memories. I used a Lee hand loader, when my dad first allowed me to hunt with his 12 ga when I was 12 years old, (remembered 12&12). Worked great for paper shells. A bit harder with star crimped plastic. I found some of my Alcan 5 & Alcan 7 powder, peanut butter jars with #6 & #8 shot & wads but can't find the loader. I'll have to dig around.

My uncle worked two pointers for quail. To the OP, if you ever have the chance to hunt behind a couple of well trained bird dogs, you will never forget the experience.

there's one on EBAY right now

41 bucks, holy crap. I still have the 16 ga one I bought in the 1960s, think I got it for $9.95 then.

Some things just keep climbing in price. I have a Lyman .54 Sharps paper cartridge ringtail boolit mold and the prices I am offered for it are off the chart.

I have a like-new "Pioneer" loader in 16ga that's been sitting around for many years. It looks older than the hills. It looks like an all-wood version of the Lee Loader, but it does say "For Reloading Paper Shotgun Shells", so it probably wouldn't be much use to you.
