Good Luck

Thanks for sharing. Going to update.

Have not tried it, but the new mobile app looking good at a quick glance.

The new app is great. You can add notes and info to your results. Easy to keep track of your info. Loaded up the new firmware, works great. Finally I can say I’m happy with the app. I like putting in my powder charge and OAL and having it all stored on the app. Very nice!

I’m actually shocked, I had emailed them late last year and they said the app was coming soon! Time to download it and see how well it works!

THANKS! for posting this!

You guys must have apple products. I am still waiting for the release of the Android app,

I installed the new firmware hoping it would fix the continuous "Communication Error" problem.. I tried to connect several times and all i got was Communication Error. Then I thought maybe if I clear the Bluetooth Cache. After that it would connect. This on again, off again communication problem with my tablet has been very frustrating.

Thanks for posting this. I just saw there was an app update; didn't know about the firmware update.

It worked for me...I normally use it on my tablet and had issues connecting to my android phone. Now both units are communicating.

I really like my LabRadar but this new app looks like it was written by a fat 12 year old in mommies basement. Really not happy with it.

Looks like a huge improvement over the last version..... which I quit using because of constant disconnects. I did notice... you can't arm the series from the app anymore, or did I miss the
secret hidden menu for that? anybody?

Hit the "last shot" button at the lower right. You can arm from the next screen.
I also noticed that to delete multiple series you need to press and hold on one series first, then you can select multiple series to be deleted.
Overall I like the new version!

Oops. If the new software doesn't allow for remote arming, I don't want it. My range has a wooden barrier 1' above table height (probably to protect from ricochets) and I have to align the Lab Radar perfectly or else it won't track. Pushing any of the buttons sometimes puts it out of alignment so I depend on the iPhone App to arm the unit. I'd rather reconnect the App multiple times rather than push the button and lose tracking.

Mine arms (and disarms) remotely from both my phone and tablet.

Well that was quick and easy. Got to remember to remove it from the SD card. Now the real test will come with the next range trip.

Ah..... thanks. I would have made it more prominent, but at least it's there. Now if it would only auto-sense the bullet diameter without manual intervention... :)

Question-is this new app working with an Android? I too have been waiting for quite some time on the promised update as I have had constant disconnect issues. Was not aware of the new update.

Just checked on the Android app-same version as the original-June 2018. Maybe doing the firmware update will help.

I did install the new firmware and had a chance to test it out on Friday. Everything started off great. My tablet connected very quickly and was doing very well. In the middle of my second string it disconnected. Under normal circumstances all I would get is continuous "Communication Error" and never reconnect. To my surprise, the tablet reconnected on the first try and was good for the rest of the day. Only time will tell if they have cured the communication problem.

I keep checking Google Play for the new Android app but it seems they have not released one yet. It looks like they have the screen shots of the new app posted. It looks like they have added a number of new functions. It may turn out to be a good thing.

I received an email from Labradar this morning. They have released the new Android app version 2.5.2.

It seems to have a lot of new features like exporting data and adding notes.

I am an old fart that doesn't like change so this is going to take some time getting use to. I think I am going to like the new version.

Went to the Android app website-all reviews of the new release are very negative. Still the same connectivity issues. As soon as I can, am going to update the firmware on the LR and will download and test the new software. Unfortunately, as I am an accountant busy on tax stuff that may not be until May.

For Android users.

Downloading:
When I did a search in Play Store for LabRadar the first entry had the icon by it so I selected that one. That is the original release, if you already have it installed, so not what I wanted. I redid the search and selected the second entry which did not have an icon. That took me to the new version. Downloaded and installed. Now I have two identical ICONs on my phone one for each version. Figured out which was which and "uninstalled" the older one.

Wish you could just "update" from the existing app rather than have to search. Wish the new version would delete, or at least ask you for permission to delete, the older version.

Upgrading the firmware:
That turned out to be easy. I just put the two files on an SD card, put it in the radar and turned it on. My concern was whether I needed to delete the two files and it turns out the upgrade process does that so no need.

Range Report:
Sorry, haven't taken it there yet. I did run through the app and it holds promise. I tend though to have a routine when I take the LR to the range. I manually set up a new series for each test and then fire away. I keep a little notebook with me when I go to the range listing things to-do and any important results. In the book I right down the series number next to what I tested. I save all the analysis for later at my computer. I have other things to do so I get the chrono tests out of the way and then move on when I'm at the range. This app may make it easier though to switch handgun-rifle or bullet weights. We'll see.

Now I have two identical ICONs on my phone one for each version.

Not quite true. The new version's ICON has a smaller LabRadar logo surrounded by a faint circle.

Very nice write up. I have yet to test it out at the range but at home it seems they have improved the Bluetooth communication reliability. Time will tell.
