I checked my VISA statement this morning and found a charge from the CMP on it. I should have a new to me Garand in the near future. Now I need to lay in a supply of ammunition for it.
I'm looking for something decent but it needn't be match quality. I've found four main choices:
Lake City LC68-LC72 from the CMP
Greek HXP Pyrkal from the CMP
Korean PS in clips from AIM
Korean PS in boxes from AIM
By the time I factor in shipping, the AIM surplus stuff isn't appreciably cheaper and I have plenty of clips. So I'm looking at the Lake City and Pyrkal. I've heard good things about both. I plan on reloading the brass if that is a factor. I'm leaning towards Lake City if for no other reason than American ammo for an American gun. Perhaps I should buy one of the Greek issue Garands and get some of each?
Has anyone out there used both?
