I'm a big fan of Hogue's Lamo Camo, so I was bummed when the DQ'd it. Since then I've been snapping up all of them that I have guns for.

I was shooting pictures of a few guns tonight and figured I'd show my progress to this point. Still have a ways to go before I have them all covered though, and in reality not every gun will look good in this pattern..

This has been a fun niche in the hobby and was keeping me out of trouble with buying new guns until I ended up with a spare K frame RB grip and had to buy a 686+ to put them on ;)

My favorite find so far is the capped J frame set.

I like the look of the camo on SS guns. I was hoping to get a 629 next year and get some camo (I refuse to call it lame-o camo) grips. Where did you hear it was discontinued? They still show up on the website.

Nice collection you have there.
I guess that there's not enough of us that like them to keep making them.
Does anyone know why the Kingwood grips have been halted ?
I have a couple sets of Lamo as well. Here's one.

Thanks for the comments.

I didn't like the look or the name for a while but the look grew on me. The name never did. Now they are kind of an oddity and about the only multicolored laminated grip I like. Other than these it's wood all the way.

Who knows, maybe the name killed their sales..?

A while back Hogue was selling them off on their outlet auction site as being a "discontinued color" and not factory seconds which is what they normally sell there. Unfortunately they didn't have anything I had guns for. I assumed from that they were DQ'd. Maybe they have a backlog of certain ones in stock still..
?

ETA: Jeff, I really like the dark brown in your conversion grips, mine are much lighter..

Ron Herman, from Hogue, got back to me and said that the rumors are untrue. They are still making Lamo Camo.

He said there are certain models they don't recommend for the laminate grips. Maybe that's where the "discontinued color" came from.

Like the look of these a lot! I am seriously considering getting some for my SW 625JM.

Thanks for the pics!

Phew! I hav'nt blown that kind of money on wood grips yet but those are the ones I'll get. Your guns look awsome together.

That particular look for stocks seems to be a love/hate kind of thing. I like it pretty well myself, but I know a bunch of people who hate it. Whatever. Variety is the spice of life, I say.

Actually, I may have $125 in all 4 of those!

Forgot to mention that part of the fun in doing this has been only getting when at a good price.

Most expensive set so far was the capped J frame gip at $50. All came from fleaBay.
