Just got my Bulgarian AK74 from Lancaster. Not very happy about the polished steel cocking handle so I may try and get one that is black (should of paid more attention to the photos on the website). :banghead:

I would like to get an extra magazine or two that matches the red wood finish. Any ideas?

If you can find any of the E. German bakelite mags they are fairly cool looking. Expensive these days tho.

Some original bakelite mags should match the stock set nicely. Good looking gun. Why the dislike of the polished bolt carrier/charging handle?

Looks good to me. The bolt isn't polished enough to shine all that much. The Yugos are the same way. If it really bothers you, a can of flat black bbq paint will take care of it. Personally I like the polished look.

I know this has been covered but the polished bolt looks really good, and was done specifically by them.

I have several AKs/RPKs, and my Lancaster looks very crisp/sleek with the bolt. In fact, pretty much all Lancaster bolts are like this. Not sure why you would try to un-do this... but your $.

Save yourself a boatload of money and possible fitting issues.

Send your bolt carrier out for a blast-n-park(erizing) and it'll come back just the way you expected in the first place. . .

I am buying a Saiga in 5.45x39 next week. The bolt carrier will be finished in a black that matches your receiver/barrel. I really want a polished bolt like that. Want to trade?
