Apparently her roomates said something to the effects of, "You have a MAGA hat and are from Alabama so we assumed you had a gun and searched through your stuff and found a gun."

From the article:

"In response to the email from Pirnie's roommate, Lewis contacted Captain James Donovan of the Somerville Police Department to inspect Pirnie's firearms and ensure they were in compliance with Massachusetts law. Pirnie agreed to allowing the police to inspect her firearms and said she was told she is in compliance with all applicable laws. Lewis acknowledged the department's conclusion that Pirnie was not breaking any gun laws in his email telling Pirnie to move out."

I wonder if she has a leg to stand on to sue.

A Massachusetts landlord told a Harvard University graduate student that he wanted her to move out of her apartment because her legally owned firearms made some of her roommates uncomfortable.

"Since it's clear that Leyla wants to keep her firearms, it would be best for all parties if she finds another place to live," Dave Lewis, president of Avid Management, said in an emailto the household obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

That photo lends the article click-bait that I doubt many right-wing males will resist. Her Harvard-graduate status even serves to dampen any temptation to dismiss her plight as redneck trash by imbuing her identity with substantive distinction. It seems implausible that her identified distinctives (MAGA hat, graduate student, owner of a gun collection) would not be attributed to someone who had by that stage in life already been "sorted" into a cluster of like-minded people rather than one cohabiting with hoplophobic liberals. I'm not saying she was treated justly. I'm saying, "pay attention," and know when you are being played.

How is it clickbait and how is it being played it if is a true story?

Would it be more believable if it was a stereotypical fat redneck guy?

Her roommates invaded her privacy, potentially broke the law, she's a legal gun-owner, her rights are violated, AND she's contributing to a $6,000 monthly rent?

Geez, she needs to move to a free state where she can live in a $750/month apartment by herself, get a decent graduate education (one doesn't need a Harvard diploma), and make friends who will go shooting with her ...

While I don't agree with the whole situation, it's the landlords property, their rules. Just like no dogs or cats. I don't see it a a RKBA's issue.

Before this thread gets locked I want to ask why you would want to continue to live with room mates who go through your belongings without your permission?

She didn’t want to move in middle of the school year or something.

At $6k a month it appears housing maybe hard to come by.

If he didn’t have it in the lease when she signed the it I’m sure it is an RKBA issue.

Unless I’m correct you cannot just change a lease agreement mid contract and kick someone out. It appears that it was not initially in the lease that she couldn’t keep a firearm there.

Also not sure what the law says about it.

For the sake of argument, if said tenant published opinions the landlord doesn't happen to like, would that also be grounds for eviction? Extending denying the constitutional right guaranteed by 2nd amendment to the 1st, in similar fashion?
