Anybody see a reason not to use #34 CCI primers in place of Large Rifle?

They will work in most guns without any problems. If your gun has a weak firing pin spring or some other reason that would cause a lighter strike, then you may have problems but otherwise they will work.

I agree, if you rifle is in good operating condition I see no reason not to use the CCI #34 primers.

The c-34 is a MAGNUM primer. Adjust accordingly.
Not as magnum as WLR. CCI#34’s are excellent primers. I have won, placed, or received awards points using the CCI#34 in my match rifles. Won an XTC match last week with them.

Agreed. It is not a "hot" magnum but you still have to act accordingly.
I shoot a lot of c-34's out of my M1A's and always found them accurate with IMR-4895 and 168 Sierra's.

They are much harder than standard LR primers, and as such

However, the only way I can keep my SKS from slam fires is to use the #34s.
As with any component change, work up the load.

I was looking for 34's due to reports of slam fire conditions in military rifles. I reloaded with Winchester LR for my 7.62x39 in my AK and never got a single slam fire. I still wanted to use 34's but could not find any avaialble. I ordered 5000 Wolf LRs because it was reported that they were a little "harder" than standard US made primers. But that was internet research so I take it with a grain of salt.

The 34 were most likely made for use with the SKS's and AK's or other arms with the free floating firing pins. Harder to help prevent slam fires.

The #34 is their MilSpec primer.
Remington 7 1/2 SM and 9 1/2 LR are also MilSpec, and available "off the shelf."

It bums me out to hear that I've been paying more for #34s and having them shipped to me when I had 9 1/2s already sitting on my bench!

When I got my first SKS, I was having 2-3 slamfires with every magazine of reloads, and factory PMC "sporting" ammo. (The only 7.62X39 available at that time)
I wrote to the NRA, and they told me that the Remingtons were Milspec. I switched to Remingtons, and haven't had a poroblem since. That was more than 25 years ago.
I've used nothing but Remington primers for the last 25+ years.

Just so you know, the M-1, M-14 and M-16 and their clones all have free floating firing pins. I understand the 34's have a different anvil angle than the "regular" primers.
They might have a different primer composition.
The CCI#41's have a thicker cup than WSR. I stopped using the brass colored WSR due to all the firing pins that got dished when they pierced. Same loads don't bother a CCI primer at all.

And they won't bother the thicker cup of a Remington.
