Las Vegas Costco shooting ruled justifiable

DMF has an excellent point. In a complicated matter it is hard to find all the facts.

There are hundreds of pages of details out there. I hope the interested THR member can take time to review them all before drawing conclusions.

Perhaps the conclusion is that all participants and bystanders were unsure of what was happening, and what was about to happen. I bet each person did what seemed right at the time. But somebody was bound to lose. The big losers here are the unfortunate parents and siblings.

Perhaps best to learn a simple lesson from this. Avoid unnecessary confrontation while armed.

Yeah and avoid being <... messed ...> up on drugs while armed too. :uhoh:

Morphine and Xanax? Wow, that is some heavy duty stuff he was mixing there. That and carrying is what got him killed. Just like alcohol and driving.

From what I read it sound he was really not thinking clearly and even may have tried to take the gun off (read it was in his hand still in the holster) in an attempt to give it to the police ......perhaps? Who knows what was going on in his head.

Sad story really. If he wasn't so messed up it would never have happened. BTW Xanax IS used to get high by people not just as a medicine to treat anxiety. (I did a quick online seach on the topic. Seems Xanax and smoking pot gets people really high. So that and morphine would result in making someone very very messed up.)

I feel sorry for the family, but they are really going down the wrong road with this.

there is a lot sketchy information flying around about this case, but if I had to choose which side to be on....it will be with the Metro.

I think this Scott guy was a troubled man who made a series of bad decisions.
