Guys. I have a two or three year old Bushnell laser range finder I bought at the local Sportsmans Warehouse. It's performance is disappointing. It won't range a prairie dog pile more than about 200 meters reliably.
I went back to the store to complain, and the guy told me that the laser emitters and receivers are the same on all of these products, and that I would not be happy with any of them.
So I gave up. For a couple of years.
Anybody have experience ranging prairie dog piles at distances over 200 meters with their laser range finders? How reliably does yours work? At what ranges?
Which one do you have?
Thanks.
p.s. I went so far shortly thereafter to get an artillery range finder, with the long stalk and lenses on either end? It is really good for getting ranges, but heavy as can be and awkward to use. Must be 3 feet long or more, and you have to use a bipod and all that. Just not suitable for this sort of thing.
