Would like to hear about lasermax. I tried out a borrowed set of Crimson Trace grips for my revolver and was rather disappointed with the design as something got into the tunnel of the grip and on the laser lens which severely diffused the light and required extensive cleaning of the lens to get back into usable condition.

the lasermax is a side plate instillation but i have not been able to determine if the laser lens is recessed therefore also difficult to get to and clean on this model.

I was rather impressed with the CT until this mis-hap. CT addresses this issue on their web site so it would seem to be not an infrequent occourance.

it would be the 105.

that lens is recessed into the grip to protect it. Problem was some oil or trash still got to it and rendered it unusable until cleaned.

I have a number of Crimson Trace grips on revolvers and semi autos. Completely satisfied with them

I've had one Laser Max sight (a rail mounted model). The laser quickly came loose inside the sight, so I had to send it back to the company. Instead of sending me a new one they sloppily glued the laser in place.
Over all the Laser Max is such a poor design and quality I gave it to a friend to play with.

That was over a year ago, so maybe LM has their act together now.

i had the rg 105 on my s&w 60 and used it hard for one and a half years,it quit and i called ct they said send it in. well it had a bad diode and they replaced the whole unit at no cost to me, don,t get any better than that for me. eastbank.

A friend has Lasermax on a Smith 638. The laser is just below and to the right of the fixed rear sight and much closer to the bore axis than CT. POI = POA at 5 yds with 125g+P JHP without any adjustment. The grip could use a bit more swell IMHO. His has been shot regularly w/o failure, except for a user replaced battery (#357.) Seems like a little Windex on a Q-tip would take care of cleaning, but I don’t know. A good, worthwhile product at a (not-to-outrageous) price.
