Just finished my latest project (NOT for sale or trade). I bought this rifle new as a 223 rem. and converted it to .243 win,had to replace the barrel, bolt head, front baffle, magazine box and follower/spring. Then to .308 win, only needed a new barrel to do that. Here it is in it's final configuration. Stevens Model 200 action,Savage M11 barrel,Savage Realtree replacement synthetic stock(had to convert from centerfeed to staggerfeed),Nikon Pro-staff 3x9x40 Realtree camo in Weaver rings, also in Realtree. Trigger is a Rifle Basix set at 3.5lb. Steel trigger guard. Also have an E.R.Shaw .243 HEAVY barrel and a Boyd's Prairie Hunter laminated stock as well as a sporter .243 barrel for it. Whatdaya think? BTW,I RARELY if ever ask for opinions on any of my choices of guns or gun modifications but this time I really would like some feedback. Thanks!

I think after going from .223 to .243 to .308 you ended up with a real nice rifle. However, the big question is how does it group and are you happy with it? I am getting ready and thinking about a similar project, maybe this winter. :)

Again, nice job and a fine looking rifle.

Thanks. Yes,I am very happy with its. i have just today finished up and have only bore sighted it. I hope to get to test it for groups later today or in the next few days(if this incessant rain will hold of a little while longer).

Around here I would sacrifice a few days of shooting just for rain. Everything is brown. :)

Let everyone know how it shoots for you. Came out looking real nice.
