I'm one of those table top FFLs, and I've been selling the heck out of them. I keep buying one for myself, and by the time Fedex shows up, I've sold it to another customer.

Very thin and flat, comfortable grip, pretty decent DA trigger pull and seems reliable. What's not to love?

In Feb 2011 I happened to be in the LGS when they got the first LC9. I bought it.

In the first eight days I, and seven other shooters, put over a thousand rounds through the gun. A couple shooters were women. The ammo was about seven different kinds.
Now the gun is pushing two thousand rounds. Not one malfunction of any kind.

As they say, the gun is more accurate than I am.

LC9. 52 yards. Standing. Two hands.

I pocket carry it a good bit.

I like the gun so well I bought two more. The third being the NRA camo version.

Well my wife had a 25 she carried but when i showed up with the lc9 she confiscated it and i haven't gotten it back. She put about 50 rounds threw it. Only thing is she's gonna have to stockpile her own ammo an stay out of mine! Two shooter in one stockpile is one two many! Lol

I had an LC9 and loved it in spite of the long heavy trigger pull. 100% reliable and comfortable. I did end up selling it when I came across a Shield at a good price. The Shield is ever so slightly larger and a couple ounces heavier but the difference really isn't noticed. Neither is better than the other so it would come down to your preference. The LC9 will cost a bit less. Definitely a better trigger on the Shield but, as a carry pistol, the LC9 is fine. The Shield doesn't have a mag disconnect but I really have no preference either way in that regard. The only reason I sold the LC9 was because I really didn't need two nearly identical pistols intended for carry purposes. Plus it built up my funds for more Rugers and Smiths

Here's a comparison.

Shield...CZ Rami
Bersa BP9....LC9

An LC9 and a N82 Tactical professional model are at my side everyday. I've put hundreds of rounds through the LC9 without any problems (except the front sight getting out of whack). Ruger took care of that with very little fuss.

I have the LCP and the LC9. Both are great for what they are intended for; the LCP for deep concealment and ultra lightweight carry and the LC9 for good concealment and comfortable carry of a bit more powerful gun.

I prefer the finger-grip baseplates, for me they seem to make these little guns more controllable.

I actually had to buy a second LC9, as the first one I bought was so loved by a good friend after he shot it I later gave it to him for a 50th birthday present.

I've had one for a while. Completely reliable. But the pull seemed really heavy. Put a scale on it, and it wasn't as bad as any of my revolvers or the double-action pull on my CZ75. But after a while I figured out that it was just awkward - between my big hands, the small grip and the long pull, my fingers didn't want to bend at that much of an angle.

So, I got the "Trigger System Upgrade" here: http://gallowayprecision.com/ruger-performance/lc9-performance-parts/ and it is MUCH MUCH better. I also did some minor polishing when I had it apart, so it is now lighter, shorter and quite a bit farther forward.

BTW, (and I hope this will not hijack the thread,) if you CHOOSE to remove the mag safety, while you have it apart to install the upgrade would be a good time.

As this is a SD weapon no mods at all. Have heard horror stories on that one . A da that doesn't care about truth and just wants a conviction will use that.

Wearing one IWB right now. Trigger is long but not super heavy. It is picky on ammo so make sure you run it with whatever you want to use for SD to be sure it functions.

I'm debating whether to pick one up for pocket carry. Objectively, I don't care for the mag disconnect or the heavy trigger, but subjectively it does feel better in my hand than my other choice.

Decent and well-made gun but terrible trigger. The CM9 is much better in the same price range.

I sort of wanted one when I first saw it at $319.00 Had the money but not the will to part with it at the moment. A few months pass and Sandy Hook happened. I couldn't find one to buy at all. Several months go by and I find one at the local Academy store. $350 later I have one in my safe. Still can't find much ammo for it but that is starting to get a bit better. I want to run a couple of hundred through it before I carry it. I have been looking for a Galco Sto-N-Go holster for it.
It seems a bit big to pocket carry unless you wear something like BDU pants every day.

Down side?
The extra cost due to my hesitation.
The limited ammo availability (hopefully not a long term down)
The holster I want seems to be on everyone's list and currently not available.

Up side?
I got it and its paid for.
Its 9mm so ammo should come back and I have some if I have to wait for a while.
Its flat, light and should carry very easy.
