P3AT and Corbon DPX

I'll mention that while chrono'ing some rifle loads today, I took my P3AT out of my pocket and fired a mag full of Corbon DPX over the skyscreens ....averaged 1007 fps.

The Gold Dots and Buffalo Bore stuff were the last 2 strings. And, my "sight picture" was beginning to wobble more noticeably as I recognized staging the trigger. I sorta suspect that the "low" part may have been due to a bit of subconcious anticipation of the recoil just as the bullet was exiting that little short barrel.

As follow-up for others as answered in a PM, the BB stuff had noticeably more recoil. For me, not painful, but getting close.

For whatever reason(s), the LCP is not nearly as brutal as an AMT .380 I had years ago that weighed twice as much.

I don't plan to make a habit of shooting a lot of the "+Ps" in the LCP but was real curios to know what the fps would be. Buffalo Bore's box claims 1125 fps - but does not specify barrel length.

will fennell

IMO that corbon dpx round is a very good round. The expansion would be alot more than the BB round, penetration would obviously be less. I love expansion..They feed great out of my lcp and my kahr PM9 also. that is what is most important..
