A local gun shop that caters to LE/military/security sales had been selling Ruger firearms at LE pricing to the general public. Ruger recently forced them to change that practice so that they now only sell Rugers to active LE or security. Not even military gets the pricing. Has anybody else seen this type of change at shops of this type? They've always sold Glock, Sig and Springfield with similar restrictions except they have been available to current and former military. I'm glad i picked up my LC9 when i did.

Your dealer got caught cheating.

Manufacturers have dealer programs where the store gets a steep discount on "LE firearms".......much better than the standard dealer pricing. The store is supposed to only sell those firearms to those eligible for such pricing. Glocks program only permits sales to LE, military, and first responders like emt's. Selling to the general public is strictly forbidden and clearly spelled out in the contract the dealer signs with the manufacturer.

Some dealers were selling those LE program guns to the general public and got caught (manufacturers require the dealer to document the eligibility of those purchases).
