I picked up a swedish (army) pack at fleet farm yesterday that I'm planning to use for deer hunting later this month. The leather tack on the pack is quite tough. What's the general opinion on the best way to extend the life of the leather? I went over all the straps tonight with Kiwi's "mink oil", is there something better and/or less smelly?

regards,

I've always had the best luck with Sno-Seal or other beeswax based leather care products. Animal fat based or other products containing animal by-products can turn rancid and promote decay when used for long term care.
