After having the most outstanding service from my bell charter oak m&pIII revolver scabbard I have an idea for what I want for my glock36 that I'm having trouble finding.

What I want is a pancake style speed scabbard where you have a raised shield on both sides of the holster mouth that on the inside keeps the gun off my body and on the outside breaks up the glocks hard straight slide edges (see pic) and only the grip sticks out of the top.

Does anyone know of a holster company that offers such a design with a forward can't for right handed owb wear?

ETA: I do not want a thumb break holster

Have you tried e-mailing custom holster manufactures with your request? I don't see why they wouldn't accommodate your request.

That's on the agenda if I can't get something a maker patterns for. However getting what I have in my head turned into a real life holster could go awry.

I'll make you one - $55 + shipping, figure about 3-4 weeks delivery, possibly less.

10/12 ounce all American oiled hide with deluxe edge finishing.

RWDale, if you do have cpirtle make you this holster, please update this thread with pics and a short review after you receive it. I'm super interested in seeing and reading about the end result.

Of course. I plan on posting about whatever I go with certainly.

I wonder why you don't see more holster designs that use the holster shape itself to manipulate printing

From my experience, the main reason is customer perception, people often comment that they "look really big", which can be the case when side by side with other styles.

The beauty of a pancake is that it has the widest loops to distribut the weight across more belt and obviously does a great job of blending the holster into your hip.

Here's a slightly oversized one trimmed in elephant I just finished up for a 1911 commander..

Received CPirtle's holster today.

Its nice and tight, very crisply molded and looks great.

I just wanted to share these pics mostly and let y'all know I haven't forgotten about this thread. Ill post a more comprehensive review later but first I need to actually use the holster for a few days.
