So if the correct wording is used then it appears to be ok. I too have been wanting to post a question as I am contemplating a scope change and I am wondering if others have tried the Leatherwood ART scopes that are current production.

My current long distance rifle is a 1950s Remington 721 in 30-06 and I am tired of the transit type mount that I am currently using. I can set the angle and then have to crunch the numbers. The ART system just looks like a lot less hassle. The ART scopes also have mil dots inside so you can use the scope either method.

IMO: The ART scope didn't work in Vietnam, and it still doesn't work now.

If a 70 year old man like myself can still kill coyotes, crows, and Prairie Dogs at 400+ yards with a steel tube K-6 Weaver on a 25-06 just by sighting it in at MPBR at 250 once, and memorizing the trajectory / hold-over out too 500?

You simply do not need dials to fiddle or mounts & reticules that twitch to hit as far as you can see.

The things I always hunted would run or fly away while I was fiddling with an ART scope.

If you are shooting only long range target, get a real target scope with adjustable parallax, and dependable target dials.

That's my story and I'm sticking too it!

Not planning on only shooting out to 500 years/meters and I shoot at 1000 now but paper targets just do not work for me too boreing. Rockchucks and california squirrels and deer and elk yes. One opinion that the ART system did/does not work aint enough as if it didnt work it still would not be in service and the new version would never have been produced.

I've got one of the older ART-II's on a National Match M1-A, obviously not the generation you're interested in, but I'll offer what I have to tell. I put the rifle together over 25 years ago when the scope was more or less state of the art (no pun intended), and while it's been adequate it's not what I would buy today for a precision rifle.

I have an older one too, been in the box almost it's entire box.

I have a Shepherd scope on the other had that works quite well with better glass.
