There is a used leatherwood 3-9 ARTII fot sale in a local gunshop dirt cheap, $30, because the owner isant sure what it is. The only problem is he does not have the original mount for it. The way I understand the system (I've never owned one), it scope itself moved up and down within the rings. Is it possible to use this scope's rangeing device in regular 1" rings, and if not, as I assume it isn't, where can I locate a replacement mount? or is the scope junk having been removed from it's mount?

You can find the mounts through Leatherwoodoptics.com. It will not permit use of the ballistics cam in conventional rings. It must be used with the rocker cradle mount in order for the BDC to work. At one time an assortment of cams were available for them.

I had an original ART II. It was a quality scope. After Leatherwood licensed it out the quality declined. I've not used one of the modern versions, but if James Leatherwood is still standing behind them, they're probably pretty good. If it's an older model, I'd probably be interested in acquiring it should it come into your possession.

Regards,
Rabbit.

Sounds like it should be usable, I'm gonna go over today, and probably pick it up. That said, I looked at the 2 sites listed and couldnot find the exact, one piece mount they come with stock, as an individual item. Am I missing it, or is it just the sort of thing I'll have to call and ask for?
