Hey folks I had to take apart my lee carbide 9mm luger de-capping resize die and we'll now I can't get it back together right to de-cap. I cannot find any instructions to reassemble it. Is there anyone that could help me with this? Sorry if I sound new I've been reloading for awhile but never had to do this.

Not really sure what issue you are having with it only being three parts(body, collet, and decapping pin), but I'll do my best to offer some guidance. Completely remove the collet from the body of the die, and remove the decapping pin. Thread the die into your press just like if you were setting it up normally. Take a piece of 9mm brass that has already been decapped, put it in your shell holder, and run it all the way up into the die, just like normal. Now, drop the decapping pin down the hole in the top of the die, and make sure it drops into the flash hole. Slide the collet over the pin, and start screwing it tight until it just starts to clamp on the pin. Once it is able to hold the pin in place, remove your brass and place a quarter on the shell holder. GENTLY raise the ram until the quarter bumps the pin, and then raise the ram just enough to slide the pin upwards a couple mm. At this point, tighten that collet like an angry gorilla. When you think it is tight enough, give it a tiny bit more or the pin will slide. Take a piece of brass that still has a spent primer in it, and try resizing. Should work just fine.

This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you very much!

This is a really fine plain language answer.

This is the kind of stuff that makes this forum priceless. Hundreds of years of knowledge and experience available for every obscure problem that may arise. I am so happy I found this site.

LOL!
...but absolutely necessary.

It was the most "forum friendly" way that I could put it. All others involved multiple expletives, some of which were made up on the spot the first time I realized just how tight that collet has to be.

This is the first time I've seen these instructions. Thanks! I now have today's reloading project defined. I love this forum.

There should be a Master's Degree for obscure and obsolescent technical information.
Things you should know, but can't make a dime by knowing !
Reloaders would fill the first graduation class.
