Recently I purchased the Lee APP press, mainly due to the large amount of brass I have to process.
Currently I have been de-bulging .40 cal once-fired brass, and have been experiencing the so-called ‘brass self-ejection’ problem. After tinkering with the press settings for a bit, I called Lee, who told me some of the presses had “escaped the plant with a faulty feed ramp “, and promptly sent me another one.
In the mean time, I created a catcher out of a shopping bag and some strapping. It works extremely well (even though it looks wonky), and I don’t have to chase the errant case across the shop.

Otherwise, the press works fairly well, and like most Lee Equipment, is worth the investment. I strongly advise purchasing the roller handle with the press (I am awaiting mine, and you can see the padding I added) because it will tear up the webbing between your fingers.
I will report any other misbehaviors after I run it for awhile…

THIS thread will fix this problem.

Lee "APP" press | The High Road

Thanks. I had looked at that thread when it was at the top of my feed (even commented in it). Those posters are welcome to comment in here if they have solved the problem that still exists.
The reason why GW Staar's fix won't work for my setup is because I am using the 4 tube case feeder (rather then the one tube which is supplied with the press).

I had the same problem on a earlier Lee APP. the carrier would get stuck slightly, like a delay blow back, then under spring tension, shoot the brass 600 yards in to the Seahawk field goal line. What I did was return the WHOLE thing back to Midway and bought 2 more! yes, that good!

I am using the 4 tubes for case feeding. GW Staar's fix works perfect - as the base is stationary....only the tubes rotate.
