i use mine for large primers only ,the small tend to hang up ever so slightly so i use a hornady hand primer for small primers.

Another alternative would be an RCBS APS unit. Of course then you have to use the APS strips, but that should be faster than a ram-prime.

As a fairly new reloader I've learned some things on the job lately. The autoprime works great for me. I use it for .223 and after 800 rds. no problems. I even use Federal primers which are supposed to be a no-no.

I have been using the Lee Auto Prime II for about 20 years (same one). Both the Auto Prime II and it's acompaning die, flip tray and primer shute have worked without issue. There is, however, a bit of practice learning how to feel the primer seating (use a little bit of pressure. They won't go off). You will have to learn how to shake some cases to insure the primer lines up with the primer pocket (easy to learn) Again...Learn to "feel" the primer as it seats in the pocket.

Presently I have no need to replace it. I doubt that there is a better primer installer out there. Probably equal to, but not better...

Mine is mounted on a Lee single stage press next ot my Lee Turret.
