So, I'm really liking my Lee bench prime tool for my magnum rifle cases, its a lot easier on my hands than my RCBS hand primer and easier to position the cases properly. BUT...I don't like the folding tray. It's not nearly as user friendly as the RCBS. I checked Lee's site and didn't find an upgrade. Does anyone make a full sized tray that will work with the bench prime or maybe an adapter to use the RCBS tray?

I’m in the same boat. The RCBS tray will almost fit. I’ve thought about shaving the feed ramp down a little on it so it will fit. I might just do that this week…..

It's sad that Lee went away from their good trays and people are having to do things like file down RCBS trays so they can keep a decent tray. I think that uses the same tray as the hand primer, I went ahead and ordered the "new" tray upgrade (really a downgrade) to see how it works, I use a rubber band on my current tray where the corner broke off (that works).

Yeah, I looked at the "upgrade" on their website and it looked like the same folding tray to me. Maybe enough people will complain and Lee will improve this part.

Well, if you'd like to part with one of them I would definitely buy it. Otherwise I may just order another RCBS tray !

I went ahead and did mine too. Ill see how it goes after I finish trimming this bunch of 223 brass I’m working on. View attachment 1021012
Make sure and post how it goes. I haven't tried any small primers yet, but I can't see why they would act any different than the large. The tray is the same, so any problem would be in the Lee small primer module.

Just got done loading 35 test rounds of 223. The RCBS tray worked great! Way better than the Lee tray. That pretty much makes it a perfect unit now. Only had to tap the tray twice, versus every other primer with the Lee tray.

Desecration!!! But hey the colors look nice and Christmasy! :)

I'm curious whether a 3D printed part could make it work for both, or would it cause feed problems? If I had a Lee primer I'd check that out....but my bench primer is an RCBS APS bench primer. That's making me wonder if I could make a tray work with that and make it even more versatile.

I should probably mention that I didn’t take any off the top for fear of primers jamming. I just took a little off the bottom with an extremely sharp wood chisel. Maybe 0.015”. I also didn’t have to take any off the sides as it was a good fit already.
