New to reloading here. Well attempting to anyways about a month ago I got a case stuck in a 444 die. Sent in to Lee precision and replaced. Lesson learned never resize and deprime a case once wipe,wipe the lube off and run it through again.:cuss:

How tuff are the columns on the Lee Classic? I removed the decapper primer clamp from the sizing die and tried to knock out the brass that way while it was mounted in the press,before I finally gave up and sent the die in to Lee

Lee has a good video on how remove a stuck case. It happen to and this video save my beacon. It under help vids at Lee.

Right here. No need to send it to LEE. TIP! Loosen the top collet nut. DO NOT remove it completely. Use a punch, do not tap it with a HAMMER.

The OP said he did that but his question makes me think he didn't hit the punch hard enough in fear of damaging the press..

OP - The press is plenty strong to remove the stuck case.

I guess its the die that shapes the brass and as long as the ram goes up and down everything is fine
Mine did not come out like in the video
 
I've stuck a few cases (rifle) and none came out using the lee method, either. I won't even bother trying it now. I'll just go right to the stuck case remover.

But I don't foresee sticking any more since I bought some Imperial. ;)

If you use a hammer you will "mash the top of the pin and it will not go back in the die.

Using the correct size punch eliminates that problem. With the LEE dies you do not need a stuck case removal tool or package.

No worries, we have all screwed up something!:D
 
Ye stuck case WILL come out on the de priming pin. Never said anything about getting it off the pin:neener:

I have stuck 2- 5.56. cases. There is no way to use a case removal tool until you rip the case head out of the shell holder. The LEE die design is in some ways better than the more expensive blends.:) Their depriming pins are one of the strongest (made from roller bearings and carry a lifetime warranty (says so in the book):)

loosen collet nut and case and and pin falls out or tap out. Now hold the case in a vise or vise grip and tap out the pin the opposite way.
 
The only case I ever stuck in a die was a 30-06 case I sprayed with Hornady One Shot spray lube. I did not read the instructions so I didn't allow it to dry completely. (my fault, not Hornady) In any event, I only use Imperial Sizing Wax now so I am fairly sure I will never stick another case but I do sometimes use One Shot on my 9mm and 45 Auto cases. I know it's not necessary with Carbide dies but it does smooth things up a lot.
