I got a big surprise this morning. I was looking for a Lee .45 Colt Taper Crimp Die when I came across a Lee Classic Loader for .45 Colt.
:)

I already have one, but decided to see if this was a fluke listing or maybe some old listing that had been overlooked. It was not.
These were unavailable for quite a while so I figured I would post this in case someone might be interested.

.45 Colt
.45 ACP
.357 Magnum
.38 Special
9mm Luger
.44 Magnum
.223 Remington
.308 Winchester
.30-06 Springfield
.45-70 Gov’t
.270 Winchester
.30-30 Winchester
.243 Winchester
.303 British

Here is a link to the .45 Colt set. You should be able to find the others once you get here:

This is good news for many out there. I currently have all of them except the 223 set. They made them for shotguns and some other calibers as well. It would be awesome if they would offer some of the others as special orders that could be made on an as purchased arrangment. There are a lot of minimalist types that would pay good money to get one for a specific gun I bet.

My browser said the link was to a suspicious page. Be careful when you find something that is "too good to be true".

Pro hunter barrels and Lee loader in 30 06 and .308 go together like pees and carrots. Thought I missed out on the .308.

Ordered .308 from midway USA with other stuff. 35 bucks and free shipping with the amount I purchased. Amazon is fine but I needed other stuff and saved a few.

I have witnessed grandkids, both sex's talk together about not shooting too many reduced load 06 because you got to load up more.

So easy to teach. People in the fast lane miss out.
I don't use it for the Garands
Thanks for the heads up . It was a Riot

Cool 😎
Glad you got an even better deal on them.

I recall reading a post on another forum a couple of years ago how Lee had phased out these nifty loading kits.
I was happy to see that isn’t the case.
I have the loaders for .38 Special, .357 Magnum, .45 Colt and .308. I think I will get one for 9mm and 30-30.

I think they’re nice to have JIC (just in case)

I am also thinking about taking a few hours one day to test my Lee powder dippers (right name?) and using various powders to see what grains of each powder I might get with each dipper. That would be handy info for use at the shooting bench.

Exactly, glad to hear someone else dosent mind getting out of the fast lane.

You mentioned it so. I use my set of dippers all the time. Rifle powder in a cup , scoop of powder into scale pan. Tiniest dipper tap tap tap till the scale comes up. Repeat. So easy.
If you have one of those bad mouthed Lee books you can get close fast.
For me under 200 yds my hunting cartridges couldn't care less if just use a dipper. Open sight rifles are oblivious to small variations for me.
Thanks for bringing this up.

Can I add I own firearms in each caliber except 303. Excluding shotguns. Each one and no more. That makes me a common boring hobbyist. Good lord.
Edit, 6mm arc, 7.62x39

9mm Luger - have
.44 Magnum - never had
.223 Remington - had

I got a bunch of calibers Lee would never have bothered with too; but I always wondered why they never made them in 7.62x39

Had to add two but ya that's my list. Current and discontinued Winchester powder covers all simple if you had to

The biggest reason that they were never made in 7.62X39 is that the Lee bottle necked loaders only neck size the brass. Also most 7.62X39 firearms were auto or semiauto until a few short years ago. Feeding issues with neck sized only ammo in semiauto is well known. They didn't want lots of calls as to why things did not work well.

Probably correct. My first 7.62x39 rifle was a Brno-made micro-Mauser bolt action made around 1980. But the only reason I bought it was because I had never heard of a micro-Mauser bolt action and I knew almost nothing about the round. And it was under a C-Note. Had to have it!

I sold that thing in under a month. The groove was .308” and cut for something way faster and with more shank than anything in 7.62x39 could fit. If I recall it was imported by Val Forgett/Navy Arms. But I could be mistaken on that.

I do the same thing but intentionally don’t fill the scoop 100% and trickle up to the charge. Love the dippers!
