I have my old Lee Pistol Loader for .45ACP & have always loaded lead 230gr. Bullets with it.

Last night I wanted to load some up with it instead of using my bench set up, everything was going good with my cleaned brass till I used my Ranier 230gr. Jacketed bullets.
The 10 rounds I tried would easily push the bullet all the way in the case with finger pressure after loading, grabbed some of my lead ones & no issues.

Does Lee not make these size the brass enough to accommodate jacketed projectiles?

Case wall thickness may be an issue with different brands of brass. Luck you, you have a bench set up. Use it. :)http://leeprecision.net/support/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/443/0/classic-lee-loader--case-neck-not-tight-enough-on-the-bullet

Classic Lee Loader- Case neck not tight enough on the bullet

It is possible to tighten up the neck on a case by simply driving the case a little deeper into the resizing die. Take a dowel that is no larger in diameter than the rim of the cartridge, and drive the case into the die just below flush. This will further reduce the case mouth diameter and hold your bullets a little tighter.

There may be a variation in how tight bullets are held in place. This is due to the case being sized from the outside of the case. If the case has a thin wall, the inside diameter ends up being a little larger, than if the case has a thick wall. Sort your cases, and resize accordingly.
I should add, that i started with the Lee "hammer Loaders in 45 acp and 357 mag. Now i would not buy them, but save and invest in a standard reloading system, with a press. IMO. :)
